Time to Celebrate

I have felt so blessed this month as I have thought about the sacrifices that have been made by our ancestors so that we can enjoy the wonderful life that we have today. July is such a great month because first we celebrate our independence on the 4th of July and marvel at the amazing country that we live in and the sacrifice that has gone into making it what it is today. And then we celebrate the amazing trials that the founding fathers of our church had to overcome as they established the foundation of our church on July 24th, Pioneer Day.

Our Stake had a gathering for both. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the pancake breakfast but it had a fantastic program and great food that I helped serve. It was nice to be in the line serving while I met lots of members of our new ward.

The Pioneer Day celebration was also extraordinary. They had really good tri-tip (which doesn't usually happen when you are trying to feed hundreds of people). They had six tables that were decorated like covered wagons with all of the food on them. These were put in a semi circle with the grills and pavilions making up the other side of the circle. We then ate in the middle of the circle.

Inside the church they had some of the rooms decorated as scenes from the trail with some of the members acting as the pioneers. The missionaries were there to explain what was being depicted.

The stake did a great job organizing the event. We are so lucky to be part of such a great ward, stake, and church. I feel so blessed to be part of it!!!

Thanks so much for your sweet comment! :) I have a Nikon D50. I love it!!! I'd love to help you out in a camera buying quest if you need me too. Pricey, but well worth it! I wish I had the money when my kids were babies to invest in a good camera. Let me know what you decide. :)
