California Pets
Last week for our play group we met at Chick-Fil-A. They brought in a company called California Pets that had some fun things for the kids to hold.
Ben absolutely loved it. He was in hysterics when it was time for us to leave. He would have stayed there all night. He was so good with the animals. He stood so still and was so gentile with all of them. As soon as we got there he ran up to the huge boa and grabbed his head. Apparently he wasn't afraid in the least bit.

Sam really enjoyed it too. He pinched the boa's scales! What is it with boys. I guess I shouldn't say that, it's not just boys that like them. I also enjoyed holding the boa.

Play Date
When we moved here Ryan, a cute little two year old boy, lived 2 doors down from us. We quickly became great friends. A month after we moved here they moved a few miles away. We are so lucky they stayed close and now they have a huge backyard for the boys to play in. Jason is almost two. He lives right next door to us. The three boys never played together while Ryan was here but we all got together a few weeks ago for a play date. The boys had a great time together. I'm sure it will become a weekly thing! Thanks for the great day Ryan and Jason! Can't wait to see you again this week.

Picnic in the Forest
In our neighborhood we have a little nature trail. We call it the forest. A few weeks ago Ben's friend Talon came for a playdate. We decided to have a picnic in the forest. The boys loved eating on the blanket under the trees and then playing with balls, rocks, sticks, and any other boy thing we could possibly find on the path. I love our little forest!

Bees!!!!!
Benjamin was stung by a bee for the first time last Wednesday. He was kicking a soccer ball in a field at park-day when his foot went on top of the ball and he fell down. His hand landed right on top of the bee.
It couldn't have happened on a worse day. That day I dropped off the car to get an oil change and some work done and then walked to the park. The car wasn't going to be ready until 12:30. At this point it was only 11:00. Our friends usually stay at the park until at least 12 but today everyone had to leave early. So Benjamin and I were left alone at the park, without a car, when he got stung.
I got the stinger out with a credit card and then walked a few blocks to a Taco Bell to get some ice and wait for Tom to come from work with some Benadryl and the camera. Lucky for us he didn't show any signs of being allergic. His finger swelled a little tiny bit but that was it. He cried until I got the stinger out and gave him some juice. What a trooper!!!

Ee-i-ee-i-oh
We went to Underwood Family Farm last week with our park-day group. This time was a lot more fun with Benjamin. He had a great time running around and looking at all the animals. He could say a lot of the sounds they make. His favorite part was pretending to drive a tractor and a bus. I couldn't get him off of them.
