We had two Young Women graduate this last week. So to send them on their way to Relief Society we had a little celebration.
It was a beautiful garden party. We had a fabulous spread of snacks. I brought open-faced cucumber sandwiches. Click here if you would like the recipe. I used white bread instead of the kind they suggested. I also cut mine out with a flower cookie cutter.
While we ate the girls were spotlighted by the YW president and then their mothers. The graduate got to say a few words to the other YW. Then a member of the Relief Society spoke to the girls about the amazing program they will become a part of for the rest of their lives. The bishop said a few words. And we ended it all with a ceremonial, cutting of the apron strings.
I hope the girls felt special. They sure are special to us, and we will miss them dearly!

This makes me miss serving in YW. That has been my favorite calling ever. Fun activity.
What a great idea!! Looks so nice!
What great pictures. I wish I could have stayed longer. Looks like they had a great time!
Those are very special young ladies and a great group of girls. There isn't a more rewarding calling than serving with the young women. Have a great time and enjoy them, they'll bring you a great deal of joyous satisfaction.
