Betheny Tagged me!!!!!!!! She challanged me to beat her 37 weird quirky facts about herself. I thought and thought but could only come up with 23 things about myself. So here it goes ...
1. I have to have the toilet paper coming from the top of the roll. I have been known to change the roll in public bathrooms and even other people’s houses before I will use it.
2. I love going to garage sales! In the summer I go almost every weekend with my mom to get stuff for my classroom.
3. I have become a total Blog Addict. I can spend hours on end just looking through other people’s blogs. If your name is on my list you can almost guarantee I will take a peek at your blog at least once a week
4. HGTV is the best TV station ever. I love watching how they decorate houses. If I had my greatest wish I would love to take an interior design class, own a huge house and have all the money in the world to decorate it.
5. I love wearing scarves, sweaters, and beanies. I think I look awesome in them. I love them so much I want to move to a cold climate just so I can wear them more. California just isn’t working out for me in that aspect.
6. I love beanies so much that when I was at Rick College I had a collection of at least 15 of them. Latter I learned to crochet them. If you ever want one just let me know.
7. I hate to leave the house without makeup on! I don’t put on a lot of it, and I only know how to do it one way, but it gets done every day.
8. One of the main reasons I scrapbook is so that I can buy the cool tools, embellishments, and paper and then organize it all. I am a freak about organizing!!! I love storage containers, labels, cute jars, you name it. I can spend hours reorganizing it or setting it up before I get started on my project. Although I don’t do a lot of scrapbooking I will be sad when I have to move my “station” out to the garage.
9. I know I just said that I love to organize but that doesn’t take away the fact that I am still a “pile person.” I have a really hard time with the things that don’t have an official place in the house. Things get left around the house a lot when I come home from work. I am so lucky to have Tom who is so good at getting rid of piles and keeping them under control.
10. I love Wendy’s kid’s meal cheeseburgers. I am ashamed to say that I go almost once a week. It is one of my greatest vices. I don’t like other fast-food places very much but you get me a mini frosty with my meal and I am hooked for life.
11. I love to travel and go new places. Especially living new places. I have been to Mexico, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, England, Austria, Chile, 4 Islands in Hawaii, and at least 23 States. I have lived in California, Idaho, Hawaii (3 times), 8 cites in Chile, Utah, and am currently in California. I think our next big trip will be to Canada for the winter Olympics in 2010. And then possibly back to Tom’s mission in New Caledonia (an island by Fiji). If any of you like to travel we are always looking for new travel buddies!
12. I love searching the web for new lesson plans. There is so much out there for preschool and kindergartners.
13. Going along with my love for organization, I also love office supplies. I once worked at Office Max just because I like office supplies so much. It is true I really did!
14. I love making thing on the computer. Fliers, handouts, homework letters, cute signs, movies, PowerPoint’s, you name it.
15. Tom thinks I make my tuna weird. I put in Mayo (sometimes ranch instead) mustard, dill relish, and sometimes a dash of paprika. It is tasty try it some time. It is great on toasted wheat bread.
16. When I was in high school I decided that I really liked The Little Mermaid. I started collecting a few things and then people found out and started buying even more for me. Before I knew it I had a whole collection.
17. Once again back to the organization thing. One of my favorite things to organize is my closet. All my cloths are on matching white hangers and my cloths are all color coded in the order of the rainbow. If that weren’t bad enough I ended up doing it to Tom’s side of the closet too because it bugged me so much.
18. If you really know me then you would know that I can’t wait to have a baby. My mom can’t either. She has been collecting baby cloths for the last 5 or 6 years. I now have 4 bins in my garage just waiting for the special day.
19. One of my wishes or goals I guess you could say is to become a CES speaker. I love giving talks in sacrament. Last year Tom and I got to speak at both Stake Conferences about marriage. It was so much fun.
20. My dream home is one right next to a lake so that I can go kayaking every morning.
21. I love watching really old cheese movies from the 40’s-60’s on AMC. I even own a few.
22. Deep cleaning things is so engulfing to me. Once I get started it is hard to stop. Toothpicks and bleach are some of my favorite cleaning tools.
23. I only own 2 pairs of white socks. All the rest have designs on them and even seasons, Halloween, Christmas, and I just added Valentines ones.
All right if you have made it this far on my list you know one of four things
1. You just realized how odd I truly am
2. You just realized we are similar in many quirky ways
3. You have way too much time on your hands
4. You know me… and you still love me

I too organize my clothes in rainbow colors. It's easier to match things that way. Like if I get a new skirt and I think I need to wear a green top with this...I just hold it up to the green section to see what goes best. IT's practical.
Loved the list! I remember the clothes in a rainbow pattern thing. Lizzy now has your Little Mermaid collection and she is hooked. Remember the pencil sharpener thing? It's not just pencil sharpeners, it's really all office supplies. If anyone knows your mother, they will not be suprised by the sock thing...or the garage sale thing. :) Your mom is a holiday-dress-up fanatic! I make my tuna the same way. I don't see why that's strange. How does Tom make it??? I always re-arange my mother-in-law's toilet paper just to mess with her. I have to have it the same way you do! You do look fantastic in scarfs and binies...and by the way, ...I want a binie! A brown one would go with the the cashmire scarf my mother-in-law got me from Italy. I love you!
I too have my closet organized in colors. I tried doing Matt's but it doesn't last long, so i just shut his closet and dont even try!
You have been to Germany? WOW! thats awesome! Totally jealous! I also LOVE LOVE office supplies... I go to the grocery store and have to stop in that isle just to see if there is anything that I like! WEIRD i know!
I am also am into organization! Once I get my own apartment/home I am excited to see all that I am capable of!
That was fun reading things about you that I didn't know :) Maybe you can send me some of the links for preschool stuff you find online..?! I do the same things with tuna.. I don't think that's wierd! I wish I could admit that my closet was organized... I really hate hanging things up. which is ironic because most of my clothes I hang up.. maybe that's why I hate it! :)
Oh and a girls night would be sooo fun!!! I am good for any night really, except Wed.'s-- Craig has mutual.
Violet, I'm not sure if you'll remember me, but this is Kellie Stoa (well, now it's Nowland) we had all of our education classes together at BYU-H and I'm also from California. Anyway, I found your blog through katrina parker's blog!! You can check out our blog at www.thenowlandfamily.blogspot.com I'm so glad that you're teaching Kindergarten. I ended up teaching Kindergarten (in Spanish) for 3 years and 1st grade (also in Spanish) for 1 year. I loved it, but stopped after I had my daughter!! Check out our blog!
First. Can you please come and organize my life? I need the baby room redone and then maybe the storage closet!
Second. I collected baby clothes since I was about 12 so I don't think you are too weird on that one.
Third. That tuna sandwhich sounds gross! :)
~Samantha
Yeah- that Tuna sounds really gross.
I used to organize my clothes by color. Now my goal is just to have clean clothes that fit! 80% of my closet is filled with clothes that don't fit right anymore or can't be worn in 18 degree weather.
Wow! I think we were meant to be friends because you need to share your organizing ways with me. I have no skills in that area. I hate organizing. It baffles and amazes me that people enjoy it. I truly admire that about you. I loved your list. I too love frosties. I have always wanted to go kayaking. That was fun! :)
