Tall Ships Festival

Tom and I have been taking everyone’s advice about spending a lot of time together doing fun things before the baby comes.

Last week's adventure was "The Tall Ships Festival." They do a gentleman’s race that starts in Canada and comes all the way down the coast to San Diego. The ships stop at several ports along the way. We were so lucky that one of them was in Oxnard. The ships stayed there for a few days and they let us "land lubbers" climb aboard.

They had several educational things set up. They had a Civil War encampment, a Pirate camp, and people on board each vessel to answer any questions you might have. They also did little battle re-enactments.

These are totally random people that dressed up for the occasion. They had a lot of fun staying in character the whole time.

We are on the deck of the HMS Bounty. It is a replica of the real Bounty. It was made for the movie "Mutiny on the Bounty" in 1960. The ship later made an appearance in the 2nd "Pirates of the Caribbean".

These two pictures are my attempt at being artistic.

It really was a neat experience; I would love to go sailing someday on ships like these.

How fun! and its so good that you are taking everyones advice... Do ALL you can before that little Benjamin comes. You will be home bound for a while, till you feel comfortable nursing in public!

Enjoy your "free" time!

Good to hear you are hanging out now before life changes so much! Babies are wonderful but it's not the same when you take a screaming toddler to the fancy dinner with you!
