Big Day

I didn't say anything at the time but in mid-January Tom was laid off from Blois Construction. Last time he was out of work for 16 months. Lucky for us we didn't have any kids yet and I was working full time. So needless to say, we were a little scared about this layoff. So he shaved off his goatee and got to work looking for a new job.
We were so blessed with a great lead from a guy that Tom used to work with. He had just moved to Anaheim with a company called Penhall, and was looking to build a team. When he heard Tom was laid off he gave him a call to see if he wanted to come down for an interview. The way it sounded the job was Tom's if he wanted it. So when he went down for the interview I went with all of the kids to get to know the area a little better and to have a day of fun with my mom.

A few days later we found out
HE GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!

I will talk more about the move a little later, for now let me tell you about what we did with my mom the day of the interview.

She took us to a place called Pretend City in Irvine. It was a lot of fun! As you can imagine Ben was in heaven with so many things to play with. They had the whole thing set up like a little city for the kids to play in. It had a restaurant, grocery store, hospital, fire and police station, a beach, a little house, a farm, a construction zone, a post office, and a few other places.

Ben spent most of his time driving a firetruck. It was hard for other kids to have a turn when he was around. He also found some safety goggles in the construction zone that he decided to wear the rest of the day.It was a really neat place. I'm sure we will go back again. Sam also had a great time but I'm sure he will enjoy it even more next time.
After that we met back up with Tom and went out to dinner with the guy who got him the job, Drew, and his family. These are a few really cute pictures I took of Sammy while we waited.

Congrats! Now you're closer and we should meet together sometime. James just got a new job also. I've been wanting to take Jocie to Pretend city!
