Samuel Bryan Lufkin

Despite a due date of August 25, Sam decided that he'd had enough of waiting and staged his own version of a prison break. Once again, we weren't initially sure if it was real or false labor but it became apparent after about an hour or so and off to the hospital we went.

Here are the stats:
Delivery - August 12, 2010 @ 11:44 p.m.
Weight - 6 lbs. 8 oz.
Height - 19.5 in.
First contraction to birth - 4 hours
Delivered in about 6 pushes
Epidural in effect just in time for the placenta...so worth the thousands that cost!
Further gory details to come as soon as Violet feels up to sitting at the computer.

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so rather than write a 12,000 word essay-plus another 10,000 or so for a video-I'll just post the pictures since that's what most people want to see anyway...

From the clock you can see that Sam is about 32 minutes old...

1200 cc's of chocolate milk, stat!
All are home and doing well.
