Camping in Sequoia

In mid June we went camping in Sequoia National Park with Tom's brother John, his wife Rachel, and their son Sullivan (he is just 3 months younger than Benjamin). It was a little early in the season to go tent camping but we didn't really have much of a choice seeing that I was already 7 months prego at the time. The Internet told us that "winter conditions persisted;" we weren't really sure what that meant so we brought lots of warm clothes and blankets. We were a little surprised to see that there was still patches of snow on the ground. The boys had a great time running around all day. I don't think they even noticed the cold. The trees were amazing and the boys loved being out in nature. I spent the whole time chasing Benjamin and Tom spent the whole time setting up camp, doing all the cooking, and all the cleaning. We were both extremely busy the whole weekend :0)Although it was really hard, and the nights were extremely long, it was a lot of fun! I can't wait to go camping again next summer with our two little sons. I love building these great family memories.
On our way home while we got a bite to eat and some gas in Bakersfield we were rear-ended at a stop light. It turns out that the lady who hit us is a member of our church. She was on her way to a ward conference to speak to the young women. She is a member of the Stake Young Women Presidency. We are all okay and our car is now fixed.
