Despite our belief that it was false labor, upon our arrival at the hospital Saturday night we were informed that it was not false labor and we weren't going anywhere for awhile. After utilizing her new breathing techniques and being utilized herself as a pincushion for several hours, Violet introduced Benjamin Thomas Lufkin to the world at 6:15 am on Sunday, November 9, 2008. He came out at 7 lbs 14 oz and was 21.5 inches long. He already has a good chunk of hair and none of it is red, so happy day!
We stayed in the hospital for about 2 days and went home on Tuesday. Both mother and baby are doing well and are very sleepy, so things are quiet chez Lufkin. From the glint in his eye and the furrow in his brow, we can already tell that he's a genius and will cure all forms of cancer in the not-to-distant future.
Dad feels extremely blessed and couldn't be happier or more proud of Violet and Benjamin.

Happiness for the Lufkins...that was such a sweet post. What a beautiful experience to give birth...I'm so excited. I'll have to talk to Violet later about just how hard it was. Glad to see your bebe bellisimo!
