I am officially off-track. For all of you who have never been on year round school, instead of getting three months off in the summer we start in July and go to school for three months and then get a month off. Then back to school for three months and then off for one month and so on. By the end of the school year everyone ends up getting three months off. My off-track months are September, January, and May. It is so nice having a break in the middle of the year. I like it so much better than traditional school.
I started my month off with a bang this weekend.
On Friday night I went to the "Daddy Daughter Sock Hop" at my school. I am so lucky to live so close to my parents because my daddy got to come with me and meet some of the little girls in my class. I forgot how much I love dancing with my dad. We had a blast!
Saturday morning I went garage saling with my mom. I am on the hunt for a white crib that is in new-like condition. I didn't find it yet but it is only the first day. I did however find a beautiful TV cabinet that will do a great job of hiding the TV and all of the equipment that goes with it from baby fingers and mashed up crackers. It is just what I was looking for. I can't believe I found it at a garage sale for $35. It is only 6 months old.
Saturday night Tom and I went on a group date with two other couples. Melinda & Tyler and Memory & Jeff. We rented beach cruisers and rode around on the boardwalk. We even took the ferry over to Balboa Island to get some ice cream. It was perfect weather the whole time we were there. After riding we went to Ruby's for a delicious dinner. It is always nice to get together with friends.
Sunday we went to our new ward. We knew the day of our ward being split would eventually have to come. Our new ward seems like it will be a nice fit for us. It is called the Foothill ward and it is now made up of Foothill, La Sierra, and Norco ward people. There are just about equal numbers from each of the three wards so everyone has a lot of getting-to-know-you to do. We are excited about the change and can't wait to see what new calling we get. For the moment we will still be helping with the dance festival.

Whoa! Smoking deal on that media cabinet. I swear they're the best thing for kids. We now have a lock on ours.

I love that cabinet! Man you scored. I would love to go baby shopping sometime. I like to hit garage sales too. When I was pregnant James and I went to Laguna Hills and to some really nice areas early Sat. morning hoping to find great deals but never did. That's so fun that u brought your dad to the sock hop. I bet your kids loved it. Talk to u soon.
Great find with the tv cabinet! It's gorgeous! My suggestion for cribs is to check craigslist... I'm kinda an addict, but I find a good deal every once in a while! Hope you're feeling good and have a great month long break!
