Ventura Pier

Right before we moved we decided to make one last trip to the beach in Ventura. This was our first beach trip where it was actually warm. It will be nice to move further south where the weather is perfect for going to the beach.

My little men are so cute!!!

As you can see from all the pictures Ben had a great time exploring.

You can't tell because I made the picture too small but Ben is getting ready to throw a stick at the pigeon.

Here he was looking in the water saying "I see Batman" He was talking about the surfers dressed in black wetsuits. I didn't even know he knew who Batman was. I think it is just innate in little boys.

I had a great time playing with my friend Valerie's camera. I can't wait to have a nice one of my own someday. I still have a lot to learn about photography but I absolutely love it.

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa

We were so lucky to have a visit from Tom's parents. They came down for baby Noah's blessing. Here are a few things we did with them while they were here:

Noah's Blessing

We all drove down to San Diego to celebrate Noah's blessing on Saturday. It is so great having family so close so we can be part of such a special day.

Hanging out at the house

Sunday we spent the morning at church and then just hung out at the house. Grandma really enjoyed kissing on my sweet baby.

Park

We spent the afternoon one day at the park near our house. Ben spent the time chasing ducks and geese and exploring. He is getting a little bit better about not touching the birds since he has been bit twice. Mom and Dad took care of Sam while I chased down Ben. What a blessing to have them there. It made my job so much easier.

FHE

We took Mom and Dad over to John and Rachel's house so they could stay the rest of the week with them. While we were there we had a little family home evening together. It consisted of dressing the boys up like missionaries, singing I hope they call me on a mission and then saying each of our names and that we went on missions. It was fun that both Rachel and I went on missions. I hope our boys are in the MTC together someday so we can send them this picture.

Long Beach Aquarium
of the Pacific

The boys and I met John, Rachel, Mom and Dad in Long Beach. Ben absolutely loved being there. He sat and watched the lobster tank for about 10 minutes. I finally had to shoo him away so we could look at everything else. It was so awesome to see how far his attention span has come over the last few months. He is such a big boy now!

I would like to give a big thank you to the guy next to us that blessed our photo with his plumber's crack and saggy dingy white underwear. Priceless!

Thanks Mom and Dad for the fantastic visit. We miss you guys so much!!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!!

We didn't do too much for his birthday this year but I couldn't let you think that I just forgot about it. I did my last storytime at the library for his birthday. The kids made these really cute hats. Ben wore his for at least a week. That is why it looks the way it does. I will eventually put my lesson plan on my craft blog. If you think I'm behind with this blog you should see that one. :0)

Big Day

I didn't say anything at the time but in mid-January Tom was laid off from Blois Construction. Last time he was out of work for 16 months. Lucky for us we didn't have any kids yet and I was working full time. So needless to say, we were a little scared about this layoff. So he shaved off his goatee and got to work looking for a new job.
We were so blessed with a great lead from a guy that Tom used to work with. He had just moved to Anaheim with a company called Penhall, and was looking to build a team. When he heard Tom was laid off he gave him a call to see if he wanted to come down for an interview. The way it sounded the job was Tom's if he wanted it. So when he went down for the interview I went with all of the kids to get to know the area a little better and to have a day of fun with my mom.

A few days later we found out
HE GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!
I will talk more about the move a little later, for now let me tell you about what we did with my mom the day of the interview.

She took us to a place called Pretend City in Irvine. It was a lot of fun! As you can imagine Ben was in heaven with so many things to play with. They had the whole thing set up like a little city for the kids to play in. It had a restaurant, grocery store, hospital, fire and police station, a beach, a little house, a farm, a construction zone, a post office, and a few other places.





Ben spent most of his time driving a firetruck. It was hard for other kids to have a turn when he was around.He also found some safety goggles in the construction zone that he decided to wear the rest of the day.It was a really neat place. I'm sure we will go back again. Sam also had a great time but I'm sure he will enjoy it even more next time.
After that we met back up with Tom and went out to dinner with the guy who got him the job, Drew, and his family. These are a few really cute pictures I took of Sammy while we waited.

Bubbles

Ben loves bubbles!!!!!!!! Our nursery leader uses them to lure the kids into class. We always have a lot of fun with them in our back patio.No Ben doesn't wear glasses he just really likes to wear pretend glasses. He pops the lenses out of them and then will wear them for days at a time. As soon as he wakes up in the morning he asks where they are. Unfortunately these blue ones got left at someone's house. Don't you think he looks like Harry Potter in them?Sam was just chill'n on my lap.Thanks Dad for all of your hard work. Glad we put all that hot air to good use ;0)

1st Food

Sam had his first food on his 6th month birthday. It took 2 months but he finally likes it. He has even tried some solid foods like bread and chunks of peaches (more pictures to follow). He is becoming a great eater.I know I am about 2 months late with this post but these pictures were just too cute not to put on the blog.I made the decorations with my Cricut and then when I was done feeding him I used the decorations for his scrapbook page so now all I have to do is print the pictures.
