The Big Day

On Monday we decided to start potty training Ben. I put him in his underwear for the first time when he got up from his nap at 3:00. At approximately 3:20 I was scrubbing poop out of them.

This is going to be
SO AWESOME!!!!

lol! Good times to be had! :) I will tell you though that the only way I was able to get both of the older kids to stop pooping in their undies was to let them go naked. Tony REFUSED to go poop naked until one day he ran to the toilet as fast as he could and realized it wasn't such a bad thing. Good luck my friend!

Sorry...I think the letting them go naked is totally disgusting...just think of any guests you might have and would they like to sit somewhere where your toddler's bare bum was just sitting. Anyway, don't be too hard on yourself...#2 is usually the hardest, especially for boys. I hate scrubbing it out of underware so I would just throw away the underware a few times when it was really bad! Ugh! Good luck! I really liked the principles I found from a website about a lady who does a potty daycamp in Chicago (basically you lock yourself and the kid up in the kitchen all day and let him have lots of sugary drinks and salty snacks so he has to use the potty a ton and he then gets used to the feeling he has to go...if he has an accident - HE cleans it up so he learns that it's not fun.) Worked fairly decent with Jackson and Payten was about 1 year old at the time...but Jackson was 3 years old and definitely ready. Anyway, good luck! Just think that everyone does it and everyone ends up getting it!

I have no problem putting our house on lockdown and not having guests over for a couple of days. :) All parents understand what it's like to potty train and different things work for different kiddos. Besides, what's a little baby bum going to hurt... not like you'd have anything in your house that can't be cleaned when little ones are running around. :)

I made Sam "scrub" his own poopy underwear in the toilet himself and that was the first and only time we had that particular problem.
