Tuesday Toddler Talk

The older Sammy gets the more his personality is emerging. He is one stinkin funny kid!!!!! He makes us laugh all the time just by a look he gives or the way he does his ninja stance. He usually doesn't even need to say anything to make us crack up  but one of his favorite things to say is

"Mom, wook me!"
and then he will do some kind of crazy, dangerous, or silly thing. Some of his favorite are standing on one leg and shaking the other, putting his lovey named Headdy on his head, shaking his head, or making a silly face. But his all time favorite thing to do is stand on the kitchen table. I'm pretty sure it is because it gets the biggest reaction out of me.

Sammy, I'm so glad you make sure we are looking at you as you do your amazing stunts!

Tuesday Toddler Talk

The other day at church Ben held up his finger with something crusty on the end of it and asked, "Mom what is this." To which I replied "It's a boogie" and then he responded

"Boogies don't live in ears!!!!"

Tuesday Toddler Talk

These boys are so darn cute but don't let them fool you they are sneaky little stink pots. They wake up every morning between 6:00- 6:30. That is way too early for me. So we usually just put on a movie for them to watch and then go back to bed.

The other morning I woke up with a start when I heard Ben say, "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

To which Sam promptly replied "Yep!"

I ran down stairs as fast as I could just to see Sam playing with one of my paint brushes that I had left out. Whew! Dodged a bullet on that one. Back to bed I go.

Our New Chalkboard

We are getting ready to start a co-op pre- school at our house for Ben. I was so excited when I found this easel for it. The boys love it!!!!

My Baby is 2!!!!!!

Sammy is one funny little man. He is so much fun to have in the house. He is our comedic relief in life.  It is really hard to photograph his cuteness. Those precious moments are hard to capture. Here are my attempts from the other day.

Here are a few things you should
 know about my little man.
  • He loves to snuggle!!!!!
  • He calls everything green. If you tell him it is a different color he gets really mad and yells " No isssss gweeeen!"
  • He hates having dirty hands. We usually have to clean them off about 3 times during each meal.
  • He loves watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates. He can even sing the songs. Sometimes he will get a little treasure chest we have and put it on the floor and walk around it and sing the song just like they do in the show.
  • He calls any super hero or villain for that matter Batman. But he doesn't just say batman he says "na na  Batman!" He usually yells it at the top of his lungs. This happens frequently when we are in stores. On lookers think he is hilarious. Sometimes he says batman in his deepest darkest voice.
  • He hates fruits and veggies. just last week he let me put some squash on his plate. He didn't eat it but at least he let it be on his plate.Baby steps people, baby steps.
  • If you tell him to do something he doesn't want to do he growls at you.
  • He is a very serious guy especially with the camera. He doesn't like looking at it and smiling I have to catch him doing it. Which means I get a lot of blurry head pictures as he turns away from me. He loves the camera though. He calls it "cheese" he loves pretending to look through the view finder while it is around both of our necks.

His favorite foods are hotdogs, pistachios, chicken "chicky", whip cream, anything else non healthy.
  • He hates drinking water! Even if it is 100 degrees outside and we were just playing at the park he wont drink it. I have to mix it with juice. We are now at about 90% water 10% juice.
  • He likes to drag his left foot. I don't think anything is wrong with it I think he just like the way it feels on his shoe.

  • He loves going to nursery at church. One time we were walking in the hall and we passed by the door and he started crying because we didn't go inside. When we moved to a new ward there was no hesitation, he just ran in and found a Buzz Lightyear and I never turned around again.
  • He hates riding in the shopping cart. EVERY time we go to a store it is a huge fight to get him to sit down. He kicks and screams as I am shoving him in. Then he cries for the next 10 min in the store. It is so awesome :0/ Any suggestions on this one? I have found that candy works some of the time.
  • His favorite songs are popcorn popping and the wheels on the bus.
  • He loves his little lovey. He and Ben call them Heady. It started out as Eddie but I guess Ben realized that it has a big head on it so they call them Heady. This is a new love for Sam. He wasn't very attached to it until a few months ago.
  • He is a great little sleeper. Sometimes he actually asks to take a nap. Usually we just have to tell him to go get Heady and he will find him in the house and go right to bed. We are going to be giving him a big boy bed this week so we will see if all that changes. I'm so scared. It took Ben over 6 months to sleep in his bed through the night and naps. He slept on the floor for probably 3 months. I hope this time goes better.
  • He has a funny little bald spot on the side of his head. No idea where it came from or if it will ever go away. Can you see it?
  • He loves to laugh and be silly. Especially with Ben.
  • He loves his 6 year old cousin Jaren. He always runs up to him and gives him a big hug and tackles him.
  • He loves to say prayers. Usually kids repeat what you say but all he says the whole time is "Thank you for this day" over and over again until you say amen.
  •  He is a really happy easy going kid. Some of these quirky things make him sound like he is a handful, which I guess he is, but he is a great listener and super sweet!

We love you so much little Sam Sam. We are so happy you are a part of our family.
You are one special little guy!

Sammy's first bee sting

There are a million bees at my parents house. I feel like I tell the boys to leave the bees alone at least 5 times each day. Earlier this week Sam got a little too close. He and Ben were playing outside alone when I heard Sam crying. Ben let us know what had happened. All Sam could say was "Bee on a feekee (finger) owee!!!!" As soon as he stopped crying which was only about 30 seconds he would say the same think but instead of saying owee he  would start cracking up. I tried so hard to make a video of him saying it because it was hilarious but as soon as I brought the camera out he stopped. I hope he learned his lesson but something tells me he didn't.

Ben the Cooker

Ben love to help me cook. I can't really say it is always fun for me. It is a lot of stress and a lot of mess. He was so cute the other day when we were at the store. He really wanted some corn on the cob. So I gave him a bag and he picked out 4 of them for our family. He carried them around the whole time we were in the store. He would show it to anyone who passed by and say, "We are buying corn!" As soon as we got home he wanted to cook it. He put on his apron. I helped him choose a pan, then he filled it with water. Of course he had to watch it boil. (he only got to stand this close for the picture when I first turned it on not while it was boiling) He was so excited when he got to eat his corn for lunch. He is so much fun.

Brothers

I love watching my boys play together. Through all the wrestling, pushing, toy stealing, giggling, chasing, and hugging, I hope they will be best friends someday.

Father's Day

Not sure if you remember but I do pictures of my boys in their daddy's shirt each year. I then scrapbook a few pages and keep it in a special scrapbook. This is the first year I didn't get a chance to scrapbook yet. My brother had his wedding reception last night and I was a little busy with that so I didn't get a chance to yet. But it will happen this week. I just thought I would let you see the picture before the final product is done.

Sam was not happy about wearing Tom's cloths.
After about 45 minutes of bribing, talking sweet, yelling, begging, pleading we finally got this one.
I guess it will have to work!

We love you Daddy!!!!!!
Hope you had a great day!

Tuesday Toddler Talk ~

One morning while picking up Ben's friend to go to pre-school he came into the car with some medicine he needed to finish drinking. Ben asked him why he had medicine and his little buddy said very matter-o-factually, "Because I cough and I totally pick my nose."

He wasn't lying he really does pick his nose but it turns out the medicine is actually for allergies. :0) I love how kids think!!!! (Thanks Lesha for permission to post this!)

Tuesday Toddler Talk~ Dad's specialty

Tom loves making smoothies!!!! When Ben was about two, Tom made him one and called it a "Special Drink." Ben tried repeating it but it came out "Special Geek." From then on it has always been "Special Geek."  Thanks Tom for treating us with your awesomeness.

Tuesday Toddler Talk~ Tansformers

The other day I put on Ben's Transformer Helmet and as I was doing it I sang, "Transformers, more than meets the eye." And then Ben repeated me "Transformers, more than eats the fly."

No wonder he has a hard time following instructions. Who knows what that boy really hears when someone talks to him.

Funny Ben!

Movie Monday

Last weekend I got to go to youth conference as the stake photographer. It was so much fun! It was awesome to be thought of as a professional but really intimidating at the same time. I had two other people helping out which was totally awesome because there was no way I could be in all three locations at once on game day. It was also fun to see other peoples style of photography. Everyone did a great job and we got some amazing shots. I made a video of my favorites for them to play after the testimony meeting. Don't feel obligated to watch the whole thing. :-)

Wrist Band of Power

Ben came home from preschool today with this awesome wrist band of power! It is made out of a toilet paper tube. On the back it was cut and then given a hole punch on each side and then tied together with a piece of yarn so it can fit any size wrist.
